Every family with kids, crossed schedules and too many WhatsApp groups knows the problem: information lives scattered across notes, separate calendars and messages that get lost. Kin came out of that very concrete need — a private space where a real family could organize its day without opening five different apps.
We built a shared calendar, lists and tasks anyone can create or check off, and real-time presence — knowing who's home, who's on the way, without having to ask. AI is woven into the flow itself: it understands what you type in natural language and turns it into an event or a task, instead of making you fill out a form.
Underneath sit Laravel on the server, PostgreSQL as the database and Redis so presence and real-time updates feel instant. The same Flutter app runs on iOS and Android from a single codebase, so the two platforms evolve together instead of at different speeds.
Kin runs today in production at kin.fjc.ro, used daily by a real family — not a mockup. It's proof we can take a full product from idea to a living service: backend, mobile apps and integrated AI, all working together.
